 SUMIT
The SUMIT (SUpporting Mobility
through ICT) project aims at
supporting the objective of 3.000.000 Erasmus students by 2011
through the organisation of a seminar on virtual aspects related
to mobility in one of the new member states (Poland, University
of Warsaw).
The SUMIT partnership envisages setting up a seminar which will
highlight and exchange best practices on virtual aspects related
to mobility during three stages: before, during and after (mobility).
The objective is to show universities in the targeted countries
how ICT can be used to enhance the quality of the student and
the university experience of exchange, which, eventually, will
help to increase numbers (in and out) of Erasmus students.
The event will be of interest to university staff involved in
International Relations, Erasmus Coordination, e-Learning, libraries
and IT services as well as to student associations.
In the first place, the UNICA member universities in the new member
states and candidate countries are targeted. UNICA counts members
in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia,
Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. However, the
event should not be considered a UNICA-members-only seminar. Indeed,
invitations will be extended to a.o. all Polish universities and
senior staff at Education ministries in the targeted countries
(new member states and candidate countries).
The main activitiy consists in the organisation of the
seminar as such. The project outputs can be listed as follows:
- Dissemination Campaign for the Seminar (flyer, website announcements,
etc.)
- Seminar on Virtual Aspects related to Mobility
- Book and eBook with Seminar outcome (including recommendations)
- Evaluation
- Dissemination of the seminar results (publication with recommendations).
- The SUMIT eBOOK is already available in two versions :
